We have all experienced anxiety and panic attacks.
Before you sit your driver’s license test, or give a presentation to a large group, your heart is racing and hands are sweaty. We feel butterflies in our stomach before our first date. We worry over family problems or feel jumpy at the mere thought of asking the boss for a pay raise.
However, if worries and fears are stopping you from living your life to the full then you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder. There are great self-help management plans that can help you lessen your anxiety and panic attacks and take back control of your life. It is normal to worry and feel tense or scared when under pressure or facing a stressful situation. Anxiety is the body’s natural response to danger, an in built alarm that is set off when we feel there is a threat.
While it may be unpleasant, anxiety is not always a bad thing.
